Ordinary soft cake
1 ½ cup refined flour
½ cup milk
1tsp (heaped) baking powder
1cup sugar powder
¾ cup refined oil or butter
Sieved the flour and baking powder together and keep it aside. Beat the sugar and butter together till it becomes creamy. Beat in the eggs, one by another, beating profoundly. Now it will look foamy. Add one part of milk and flour alternatively, still beating in between. See for the consistency. It will become pouring type. You can add a little more milk if required.
Now grease and dust a baking dish. Pour the batter into it and bake in a preheated oven for 35-45 minutes.
When done let it cool properly and take it out turning the baking dish upside down. Starters are often found to be too tempted to see the result. Trying to take out a very hot cake will tear the cake into pieces. Now go for the icing, we have already discussed. You can decorate it in whichever way you like or you can simply eat like that only.
