Very soon the ruling term of LDF lead government is going to be over by 23rd of May 2011. The Election Commission of India has announced the details of the forthcoming election for the state. It has announced that this election is going to be held in a single phase though many expected for two phases. This may be because of the security issues. The Central Government has announced to deploy the Central Army Forces so that Kerala Assembly Elections can be conducted peacefully. The security forces will be a sum up from CRPF, BSF, CISF, ITBP and even from SSB too. This is a measure taken up by the Central Government to avoid all the possible problems and attacks in the sensitive booths and all over Kerala state.

Date of counting: 13/05/2011
In the last Assembly Election held on 2006, LDF won 99 seats out of the total polls conducted. It was a great achievement. This time the total Assembly Poll has 140 seats. Out of these seats there are 14 seats reserved for Scheduled Caste and 02 seats for Scheduled Tribes. The ruling party, LDF-led CPI (M) may get a tough contest this time from the Congress led LDF. Besides people of Kerala are eager to see the results as UDF started winning lots of seats in the 2010 Kerala Local Body Elections. This Assembly Election may give a sharp turn to the ruling party.
In the whole Kerala State there are a total of 20758 polling stations for voting. The state has 2,29,40,408 voters waiting to vote in this Assembly Election. The voter list for this election is now available online on the web. For this Assembly Election, the Photo Electoral Rolls will be used and almost all the voters are already provided with this facility by issuing the Electoral Photo Identity Cards (EPIC).
The Election Commission has arranged for a special coverage of the possible critical events with Video Graphy for all the sensitive polling stations in the state. For a secure voting method, the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) are going to be used for all the Assembly seats contesting in this election.
The luck of the party all depends on the hands of its voters. The combination of the voters from different communities will bring the major result. All the parties are counting for the day and may be Kerala inhibits its peculiarity of not allowing the same party to rule in the consecutive year. It is yet to be seen. In all the two states Kerala and Tamil Nadu and the union territory, Puducherry are going to have single phase Assembly Elections on the same date and day.
Yet, for the deciding day, Kerala has to see the fight between the two major alliances, the United Democratic Front (UDF) and the Left Democratic Front (LDF). Every year, these parties were ruling Kerala in alternate terms. It is still to see which party the people of Kerala is going to choose for the rule!
